Once again, the use of Fire magic has become a dangerous thing. But this time, unlike during Embersbane, the magic seems to be wholly uncontrolled. The cause seems to be related to the Avatar herself, and a book found in her possession. The Avatar's gatekeeper Eirlys has started sending out for healers to try and cure Caitlin of her catatonic state.
